<title>What to do when you&#039;ve hit a plateau?</title>

<description>Hi,I&amp;#039;m midway into a diet/exercise regime and things were going well until a couple of weeks ago when I hit a plateau. Do other people find that after a few weeks/months of being good that it is easy to slip back into bad habits? If so, does anyone have any tips for making sure you stick to the plan and keep going? Any ideas would be appreciated!</description>

<description>I&amp;#039;m going to run in the Royal Parks Half Marathon:http://www.royalparkshalf.com/which is on 12th October, starting in Hyde Park.Since my mistake in the Midhurst 10k was to start too far back, I am wondering where I should aim to start in this?I did a practice 13 mile run, and took a bit under 2 hours. When I ran the Midhurst 10k I found I was a bit quicker in the race than I had been when practising, so maybe I will aim for a bit less. But I have no idea what is a &amp;#039;normal&amp;#039;...</description>

<title>I&#039;m much fitter but weigh more!</title>

<description>I started running by joining a running club on January 3rd, I really enjoy all its benefits - I feel better, look slimmer and can run for 3 miles without collapsing. But I have gained 3kg since I started. Part of my motivation was to lose weight. Will I eventually start to lose weight or should I accept the fact that I look thinner and feel fitter. Has anyone else had this problem?</description>

<title>rhr too high?</title>

<description>I have begun, over the last two weeks to do some jogging. I am concerned that my heart rate for this activity is too high for my age. I have read (runners world ) that I should be exercising at about 75% of my max heart rate which for a 43 year old male should be upper 120&amp;#039;s -130bpm. Try as I might I simply cannot get it down to this. My heart rate monitor shows 155 for what feels to me a steady jog! I can run for quite a few minutes at this pace.  Can anyone explain what I am doing wrong o...</description>

<title>Swimming getting started</title>

<description>I usually go running, do aerobics, cycle and go to the gym, but I fancy a change.  I was thinking about swimming, but I haven&amp;#039;t swum for years and years.  Any tips on how to get started, what strokes, what to aim for etc?  Or a training programme.  Although I&amp;#039;m quite fit I&amp;#039;m not a confident swimmer.</description>

<title>Exercise log and calorie calculator?</title>

<description>Does anyone know what the levels in the exercise log actually mean?If I go for a run, at a pace that I find hard, then I enter that as &amp;#039;Hard&amp;#039; but it seems to me from the calorie calculator  that it cannot be right. Running for 1 hour at &amp;#039;hard&amp;#039; yields 950 kcals which seems an awful lot. If I run for 3 hours, I don&amp;#039;t feel as if I have used nearly 3,000 calories. And yesterday I cycled along towpaths for 8 hours total (70 miles) and that came out as more than 5,000 kcals....</description>
