"Throughout the last 6 months, we have all at one time or another fallen off the wagon"

Fallen!!! I jumped holding my chocolate parchute and the darned thing didn't work so the wagons rolled over me 99 times on their way to fat town!

'Never give up; Never surrender!' God that sounds grim, I'm face down in quick sand of chocolate (and wine and vodka and roast taties, and cake and custard and cream n Baileys covered ice cream) grimly waving a bikini that will only go round my hand.

Thanks for throwing a rope.

Hi, as a newish member of times health club I've just been reading this thread and can relate to so much that has been written. I have a long journey ahead as I'm in the morbidly obese category. I can, however, offer a few ideas that worked for me in the past. Firstly the 80-20 rule i.e. if you stick to your healthy routine 80% of the time you should be able to get away with lapsing occasionally (birthdays, funerals etc) Secondly keeping hands busy helps with the picking in front of the telly problem (if you knit or sew you don't want to get your hands dirty by melting chocolate on them (added bonus several charitiees are always looking for knitted items for premature babies so you can have a moral lift as well) and make sure you are getting enough sleep - tiredness is one of my worst weakeners of will power - that and the depression I've had to fight at regular intervals since puberty. Don't know if any of that will help anyone but good luck all.

Thanks Jean,
Really good suggestion about keeping hands busy. I forgot I am actually good at knitting I just can't stand doing though; I shall try and dig out a crochet hook instead.
I have to say spending the evening reading posts, and typing keeps me semi away from the wrong stuff.
Painting your nails is ACE. its hard to eat with wet nails. Put down the Malteasers all that's cheating.
