Hi, as a newish member of times health club I've just been reading this thread and can relate to so much that has been written. I have a long journey ahead as I'm in the morbidly obese category. I can, however, offer a few ideas that worked for me in the past. Firstly the 80-20 rule i.e. if you stick to your healthy routine 80% of the time you should be able to get away with lapsing occasionally (birthdays, funerals etc) Secondly keeping hands busy helps with the picking in front of the telly problem (if you knit or sew you don't want to get your hands dirty by melting chocolate on them (added bonus several charitiees are always looking for knitted items for premature babies so you can have a moral lift as well) and make sure you are getting enough sleep - tiredness is one of my worst weakeners of will power - that and the depression I've had to fight at regular intervals since puberty. Don't know if any of that will help anyone but good luck all.
