I'm not one of the world's greatest when it comes to cooking so an easy quick but seriously filling breakfast that is totally syn-free on Slimming World's Food Optimising plan is as follows:-

2 Weetabix - which you can take as a healthy option.
1 banana chopped into 1cm chunks and distributed over weetabix
1 Optifit low-fat yogurt or a MullerLite Yogurt instead of milk.

Doesn't sound like the finest recipe in the whole world but for a lazy (when it comes to cooking) bloke whose up and on his bike well before rest of household is up it's quick and filling. In my opinion and when I was 100% food optimising it helped me lose 4 stone - see my blog at www.sidsjourney.blogspot.comURL for more info.

Great work there - I'm just starting the journey - I'll keep track of your progress on your blog...

I'm looking to lose at least 3 stone over the next 12 months or so....

Well, if it's any help Stuart over the past 20 years I'd made my mind up that genetically I was not able to lose weight. Lucky for me someone asked me a question that changed my life right round. It was "do you want to join a group we're setting up?". Having folks in the group sharing their experiences really helped but what also did it for me was how easy Slimming World is in terms of being a sensible healthy eating framework.

I've gone from being really big (nearly 19st) to not far from where I want to be at 14st 11lbs. To start off the weight dropped off for the first three months and then it begins to level out which I think is natural. The good thing though is that as the weight comes off exercise gets easier to the point where last year I ran 10 miles for the first time.

Anyway give it a try if you really want something you can do it. My boss always says "The brain is a goal-striving mechanism" - if you want it you can do it. Go for it!!!

I always struggle with breakfast so am going to try your recommendation. Are there any other SW people out there - we could start a group. I habe lost 10 Kgs so far on SW but Christmas hasn't been kind!

Hi Geraldine,

I set a group up for Slimming World but you have to scroll through the ever-expanding list to get to it. I shouldn't worry about Christmas not being kind it's absolutely normal unless you don't celebrate the festive season!! The thing is to get back on track and enjoy a big weight loss or two in the next few weeks! Have just noticed another post that's got some breakfast suggestions on it - have now noticed two folks recommending Oatcakes - I've never even looked them up in the Food Optimising book, had just assumed they'd not be a good choice!!

All the best
Paul
