Let me know how you get on.

Reply by Brendy B

Yep mine are 27cms as well!

My dau has just started using a side plate which is of course too small so has to be refilled - I have no doubt defeating the object.

I shall try your suggestion thanks.

Reply by Jaki T

Oh, the plate I use is a Portmeirion one (Botanical Garden - wedding present!) but they're very common in places like Debenhams and the more traditional department stores.

Reply by Jaki T

I use medium sized dinner plates, I'll pop downstairs to measure diameter...

Right, the diameter of the current plate is 21.5cm and I used to eat off diameter 27cm. No wonder I was so big!!!

Is that any help?

Reply by jackie morton

Try using a salad plate, I think they are an in-between. When I have a meal at work I ask for it to be on a salad plate.

Reply by Brendy B

Where did you find plates that are smaller than standard dinner plates but bigger than side plates? I've been looking but no joy so far.

I read somewhere that Liz Hurley eats from a child's plate to keep slim, works for her too.

Thanks

Reply by Jaki T

No I haven't but what I have done is use a plate the size of my children's plates and have the same size portions - they're 7 (boy) and 11 (girl) and it's working for me!

I must admit, I don't really know if I'm having the right amount of protein, carb etc but I do have loads of fruit and veg and try and get some protein at each meal apart from breakfast....

Reply by Brendy B

I've just seen the (expensive I think) diet plate, that has portions calibrated so you dont have to put your food on scales.

Has anyone tried it? What say you?
