In future keep your suggestions to yourself Jackie - did what you said and it looks like a book will be sent to me. Great, now what excuse can I use?

You might enjoy it, I am. It's certainly opened up my taste buds, I'm eating quite a lot and not really hungry all the time like I was. The hardest thing at the moment is trying to find some of the more unusual foods. Managed to get hold of another one today, if I haven't got a thing to hand I try to use the nearest thing I have in the cupboard. Whats more I seem to have more energy and don't feel bloated, which has to be a good thing.

I'm doing Life-Changing Weight Loss, 3 easy steps to get the body and life you want. Quite a bit of psycology to start with, followed by a seven day kick start plan, then about enjoying life and keeping the balance. Just had some Thai fishcakes, with herb salsa and mixed salad for tea. I'm well stuffed. It was bloody lovely as well.

Yes you might loose that 8lb and more before your 'baby' comes home.

How easy would your 'diet' be if everyone was at home? Or perhaps you find it easier when they are? I hate buying obscure ingredients for one dish - I've got jars of herbs and spices I've bought in the past for one teaspoon and never used again. I hope it's not too tying in that respect - you know more store cupboard friendly. When did you start Jackie?

Officially on Monday, had to swap some of the meals around as with work it can be a bit harder. So I use the salad or soup options then, breakfast I've had to swap around as I couldn't get hold of any Buckwheat flour for the PANCAKES!!!! After speaking with someone at work, they managed to get me some, they live in a different area. It does say to use goats milk, but after seeing the price I'm sticking to skimmed 0.3%fat. The only two things I haven't been able to track down is Bragg liquid aminos, a ptotein rich seasoning made from soya that contains a range of amino acids. Using soy sauce, or a thing called Maggi. Ans Psyillium husks, a soluable fibre which helps your digestion and to stay full longer. If I can't find any I'll just use some bran, boils down to the same thing I think.

Did try out a couple of recipies out last week, and froze them-that way if I don't feel like cooking I'll get one out of the freezer. Hubby tried some as well and thought it was good.

I have a weekend lined up with family and friends where the food and wine is likely to be flowing.

Me too unfortunately! Dad's Birthday Sunday followed immediately by Mum and Dad's Anniversary on Monday! Booked in for a meal at an American style restaurant near here, where the portions are typically 'American' too.

Oh well......Lots of salad and 'iron will' required........sigh

You can still opt for something healthy Simon, a nice big juicy stfeak-medium/rare with plenty of salad. I'm going away for the weekend as well, and no doubt will be eating out. I guess its all about striking a healthy, sensible balance.

Our friends have taken us to this place called Damons. It's in Lincolnshire somewhere. It's American and I remember it serving huge portions - I remember thinking that when I wasn't healthy eating!! Anyone heard of it?

How did we all do over the weekend?? With being away and eating out there was no way I could stick to mine. Where I could I opted for the healthy options. Will pick it back up from where I left off. After all mine is based on healthy eating and cutting out a lot of the cr*p that we eat, and don't need to. Eating out over the weekend I was thinking a lot more before I put my order in.

David, I was just being nosy and looking through this thread as I'm not up for a diet book myself.

I noticed you are new, so first of all welcome - you won't regret it - and that you have said you are interested in a new diet book. I have no idea if they are still available, but I did notice the following post on the thread from 17 July:

My goodness Life Changing Weight Loss is a pricey diet...
But after all the psychology, nutrient maxing, self-love and buckwheat pancakes, however, I can't help thinking that the reason I've lost weight so far is because I'm simply not eating ANYTHING BAD. We probably shouldn't need a diet book to tell us that that'd work...

I'm on that diet as well.

Have you been able to get hold of the Bragg liquid aminos, that's about the only thing I can't get hold of. Fitting in some of the meals, especially at dinner time with work is hard as well. How do you get around things like this.

Oh, nearly forgot the psyllium husks I can't get either. The only psyllium I can find is in tablet form, and reading the book its the powder we need. Being as its a soluble form of fibre I'm having to use bran fibre at the moment. I know its not the same but its the nearest thing I can think of to use.

Thats the only draw back of living in a rural area, you are limited for shopping at times. On my day off I hopef to go through to Galasheils, at least they have a Tesco and Asda next door to each other.

I would be very interested in trying out the new diet books. As previous people have said, it would need to consist of everyday foods and not cost a fortune to cater for.

How are we all doing. I feel constantly full, (most of the time), and not always ready for my next meal.

Tonight though after doing 24 miles on the bike, I had a attack of the munchies before tea. A while ago I'd of raided the biscuit tin, today NO, 3 oatcakes with humorous did the trick.

For tea it was Thai fishcakes, with rainbow salad and salsa. With some extra added spices.

Well I've just got a book (thanks Harriet!) called No Fads, No Frills, No Nonsense Weight Loss Plan! Read through over half of it, and its basically counting calories and upping your exercise, but not too drastically - should be what I ought to be doing anyway! One of the thing it points out is that for women exercise by itself is not enough to loose weight, and I found that out personally when I was training for the Moonwalk. Glad I haven't got one of the wierder sounding books!!
