Have started line dancing with my husband twice a week which gives us a new interest, improves our stamina and co-ordination and most importantly exercises our brains. We love it

Hi Laurel

I did some line dancing a few years ago and had exactly the same experience. The memory gets a good work out along with the body and it's real fun.

There isn't anything where I live now at a time I would be available, but only this weekend I was pushing line dancing as a good activity for people to get into.

And you don't need a partner!

Hi Barbara,
You could try Youtube, there are hundreds of linedance videos on there to join in with. We are taking part in a charity event for Macmillan nurses on bank holiday Sunday in Southport so are practising at home as well as in class. What do you do to to work out now?

I don't think I would have the space in my flat, Laurel, but I might have a peak any way.

At the moment I am building up to running - well that's what I call it! I'm doing a walk/run programme whereby I gradually increase the amount of 'running' that I'm doing while reducing the amount of walking in between. I have just finished my third session of walk 1 minute/run 3 minutes over 30 minutes and now I have to decide what my progression will be. I am not following a strict programme designed by anyone, but I am dipping into them for ideas. This is keeping my body busy and I can feel the improvement, but it doesn't do the brain bit!

There are lots of linedancing clubs in Scotland, my friends sister is from Formby and runs a club near Glasgow. How do you exercise?
