Frankly running around the Arc de Triomphe is a LOT nicer than runnng around the Emirates Stadium but then am not an Arsenal fan. Am finding however that my weekly mileage total goes from 43 (best) to , er 13. Are other marathonites having such a wobbly track record?
And do I need to change my shoes now?...

Reply by Sam R

Wow I stand in awe - at the moment I couldn't even contemplate running a marathon - until I shift some flab I'm not sure I could run a few feet. I'd like to but I think I'd cause too much damage to myself and maybe the pavement beneath

Good luck to you all

Reply by Rosie Millard

Hi there fellow Marathonites. Really grim weekend as I ran around 13.5 miles on Saturday and it nearly killed me. I felt all weak and dizzy later on and nearly was sick in the evening. Then today (my day off) I have been in a vile mood with everyone. To make matters worse Mr Millard bumped into the neighbour who is also doing the Marathon and he had just finished an EIGHTEEN MILE run. Which made me feel like giving up. Very demoralised and feel weak and weepy whenever I think about April 13....

Reply by Lucy McCappin

hi, i have a place for the Marathon, but currently awaiting hte birth of my 6th child who is stubbornly refusing to budge. Once she has arrived I will need all the motivation and support anyone can offer. A 'time on my feet ' approach is what I am aiming for.

Reply by Glenn Wakeham

I am not doing London, although have done it before which led to my addiction to running for 5 years. Last 18 months have dramtically seen my training reduced due to injury and parenthood. I too am slowly starting up again (convinced my hamstring will give way any moment!) but have no plans for a marathon, i just want to be able to knock out 10m on a crisp clear spring Sunday morning and not feel exhausted for the rest of the day- i find exercise keeps me snacking on fruit and water and away fr...

Reply by Su Wong

As in the marathon? good luck. I am thinking about doing the moon walk in May, but then it depends on whether I have a wedding to go to or not on the same day. Other than that my partner is trying to persuade me into doing the London to Brighton bike ride in June sometime. There are a lot of hills that I am frightened of! lol. But at least it would be a great incentive to get myself fitter for. It would all be good training regardless.
Good luck with your training, and the big run....

Reply by david little

I'm doing london, 4th time, great for weight loss and getting in shape..hopefully.

Am hoping keping a log will help the training, and avoid the snacking I'm prone to.

Had a run of injuries and illness last year so slightly anxious about restarting the big training.

Anyone else out there also doing same???...
