hello all, first of all happy new year and well done for joining this health club... I am currently studying to be a nutritionist and am reallly interested to find out about peoples relationships with food and why they feel or are overweight. Part of my course requires me to do case studies on different patients, if you would like to attend my clinics (always attended my a fully qualified therapist) and receive one to one advice from a naturopathic perspective in exchange for using you as a case study, please feel free to e-mail me for a chat, or to ask questions about my course. Helen.

Hi Helen

Would be interested in being a 'case study' for you. Where abouts are you? Would we have to meet face to face? I think you can get my e-mail address from my profile. I am sure you will get many willing volunteers from this site!

Kind regards

Jo

Hi Helen

Are you looking for certain types (anxious/big/anorexic) etc? I think my current diet is above average but could still be improved which is why I'm signing up. Measuring alcohol - water - sleep for trends. Happy to help if required.

Hello Helen,
Are you interested in shift workers? As I write this I'm three hours into a twelve hour night shift. I have found that there is not a lot help when trying to adapt healthy lifestyle plans aimed at 9 till 5 weekends off types to unusual sleep/work patterns. Would your study address this?

I would love to take part in your study. And good luck with it.

Kenneth

Hi Helen,
As a serial dieter, with food intolerances and a personal and family history of eating disorders and depressive illness, I believe I'm right up your street! Depending on where you are, would love to attend clinic, otherwise I'm quite happy to do online conferencing via Skype. Please email me!

Count me in

Caroline

Hi Helen,

I would be interested to be one of your guinea pigs. I work 12 hours shift just like Kenneth (but don't know him). Let me know how it would work.

hi all, thanks for all the msg's. The college i am studying through is based in Birmingham where we are holding clinic where you would receive help and advise from up to 21 students and a fully qualified therapist for a small fee.(please e-mail for more details) If this location is not convenient or you just want some helpful pointers on your current diet or lifestyle choices i would be more than happy to correspond through e-mail/ snail mail. Like a few of the msg's i have received i work unsocial hours and my work/ sleep patterns are sporadic to say the least, so this is something i would defiantly like to to look at, and has raised some question in my own lifestyle/diet. I will msg everyone individually over the next few days. In the meantime, keep positive and enjoy what you eat. Helen.

hi helen
as with previous posters I am very interested but it depends where you are located?!..I'm based near brighton. I need to lose 4 stone ..not only for vanity/social reasons but also for health/psychological reasons.. over the years i've not had a very healthy emotional relationship with food or alcohol...and suffer off and on with depression...up until my late 30's managed to keep my weight more or less in healthy range for my height..but since the menopause weight has piled on ..activity levels decreased..and depression much worse..

so could do with some help!!

let me know if i fit the bill

Hi, Just joined. I don't know where you are based so don't know if I might fit the bill. I have never had to diet before but am not looking forward to working out what to eat as I have a number of food intolerances which don't seem to fit in with the standard 'healthy weight loss diet'. Any tips? I want to lose 9lbs before I hit 50 in the Summer.

Hi Helen,
Are you interested in a family with weight/eating problems. As a twenty year old I was very overweight but lost quite a bit after having two children. Now the menopause has hit I am back battling the weight but only need to loose a stone to bring me back to good health.
Conversely my husband was only 11 stone in his early twenties but has yo=yo dieted his way up to 17 stone and a bit now.

I would love to hear from you and would prefer to correspond by email as we are both still working, Can then give you further family info - both old and younger family members.

Nona
