hi everyone I have just joined. I am 5ft 1 and have noticed that as I have got older the weight has become hard to shift! I want to get to 9 stone and be able to stay there. My vices.... well its that cold glass of wine! I have got into the habit of having a glass (or 2) at night and of course once you have one you then need the crisps, olives.peanuts, cheese... to go with it.
So this week I have not had a glass or snacks at night. Tonight we have friends coming round for dinner and I am going to try really hard not to overdo it.

Good luck Michelle. You are on the way to changing. Cutting out alcohol will make a difference. I was just the same as you when I started and have now lost 2 stone. Small steps. Keep a diary and drink more water when you feel hungry.

Well done Michelle! Another 2 weeks and it will be a habit (apparently it takes 21 days for something to become a habit).

I stopped drinking alcohol in January to lose weight and can't say I've missed it. Have had the odd glass at weddings, one monumental night out which I'd rather forget and shared a bottle of wine with my sister-in-law last night for no other reason than it was there, we were having dinner, and it seemed anti-social to drink water.

The good news is I can take it or leave it, so back on the wagon again for me.

Hey Michelle and welcome - try cutting down to one glass a night and then one or two a week and gradually smaller glasses, that will make a huge difference. If you have to have nibbles measure them out into a bowl - sometimes packets can go on and on without us noticing - and check out the snacks thread for healthy options with your wine.
Good luck
Emm

Good for you Michelle. I know I am a nibbler and understand where you are coming from regarding the alcohol. I make sure I always have raw veg such as carrots or celery to snack on.

Enjoy it. It's worth it.

Hi Michelle, I am similar weight to you and the goals arn't far apart either. Join us all in the AbFab group, were a very chatty bunch and support eagh other through thick and thin. Quite a few of us have met up. You're an inch taller than me by the way.
