Do you think "thin people" fluctuate like this? I can't imagine some of my thinner friends watching every morsel they put in their mouths, knowing the scales will be cruel!
Also, my thin friends reckon i'm loads more active than they are, yet they don't seem to make any effort to stay thin
Is life really this unfair???

The most successful thing i have done is losing over a stone and be one of the Times Members of the month for June. This was really unexpected and I now look forward to my champneys trip.

Well done to all!

I'll tell you some successes as they're probably too modest to do it themselves.

Lizzie and SamB completed the half Moonwalk so fast that Ruth and I didn't see them! Cate and her friend completed the whole Moonwalk in record time too. Sue amazingly, despite her foot troubles, completed the full Moonwallk along with her lovely daughter Hannah, JackieW and Simon.

I was so worried that Sue in particular might have to give up halfway, or be brought back in an ambulance! Even though I'd never met them before in real life, I was so proud when they came into sight at the finishing line this morning.

As for the lovely Ruth - we had a great time on volunteer duty - Ruth variously striding around with two crutches, one crutch and most of the time, no crutch! Well done Ab Fabbers.

That truly is success Fiona. Of course it's all helped along by the services of the great volunteers.

That truly is success

I think it is Emm. I was full of admiration for all of them - some quite elderly ladies in their 70s even did it! It was an honour being a volunteer that the Finishing Line, sharing the tears and the laughter - and getting First Aid to the sick and weary!

Successes... reaching the weight I was 2 years ago, which is the lowest weight I've been in my adult life!

Woohoo!! A loss of 20lbs.

My sister and her boyfriend are cooking for me and mine tonight, a big feast of a meal which appears to involve a lardy PIE and indulgent dessert and lots of WINE! I'm going to enjoy this...a big treat after being "good" for so long.

Hoping now to perhaps lose a couple more pounds if I can, but mainly aim to maintain my weight and my fitness! Can't believe I now enjoy running, I would never have thought that possible!

Thanks for all your encouragement chaps! This site has helped me a lot.

Emily - that's just brilliant!

Also to have been bitten by the running bug! Even better! Hopefully this will enable you to keep it off, and compensate for the deviances every now and then.

Hope the dinner was lovely...

It WAS. Rabbit pie with creamy mash, followed by a strawberry 'scrunch' -- problem is they made far too much of it, so I have an entire second dish left, which will clearly have to be consumed over the weekend.

My sister brought my 'Britney' outfit with her - a nasty/trailer trashy cropped joggers and top combo which I got in Miami in an emergency after our luggage failed to arrive. Got her to take a picture of me in it so I can put some before and after shots up once I get back from work. The outfit seems to be unflattering no matter what size you are but I hope a comparison can be made! Watch this space... (or rather, the Before and After Gallery).

Big hugs x

Well done Emily, you have done incredibly well. I'm too nearly at target weight so we'll all have to support each other in keeping the weight down before it piles back on.

Great news, Emily, and thanks for sharing it with us.

Other people's successes are such a boost for many (all?) of us at TTHC.

hi everyone

I'm back! i now eat a banana or other fruit every morning and black coffee with 2 sweetners and i'm out walking everywhere even to college. this monday coming i'm due to start kick boxing with an old school friend met on facebook. I still eat salads and i am better prepared since coming on here! i'm still losing a little bit of weight but not much, i'm trying but its hard. any way I have now brought a pair of dorothy perkins 12's from a car boot on sunday. i am determind to get into them and be comfortable. my dad and family and friends have noticed a change and i feel a bit happier even though i have my off weeks. i have stayed out of gregs and just go into those places for coffee before college and nothing else. honest! happy dieting, dieters

to all you people that are afraid of trying a smaller size go for jeans that stretch ie dorothy perkins or yes i know primark and after a wear and wash they fit. i'm in sitting a comfortable pair of primark 14's. yes i know there cheap but to me what is the point of buying expensive clothes when i'm loosing weight. and i'm on budget.

I've lost half a stone since new year! I lost about 5 pounds and then had a bit of a setback for a while during exam period, now i'm on holiday and down the gym/running around at work all the time and the weight loss seems to be up and running again!!

I'm back!

Nice to see you back, Lisa, and glad to hear you're even better supported! Like your idea of aiming for a pair of trousers. I have a cropped pair that I bought 2 years ago, never really fitted, but I refuse to chuck them out as they are gorgeous... They're my Paul McKenna visualisation pair... I will have to pin them on the wall, or something...

Lisa congrats!
I have just bought a second dress size 16 which is incredible to me a safari style navy linen dress but it is years since I was this weight and I hope to get to a 14. I can't tell you how good it is to buy something smaller! and all my existiing clothes are loose!

Well done to all!

Hi Lisa, great to have you back. Well done on the healthy lifestyle. Good luck for getting into the jeans. I was chuffed to bits when I got back into 12 jeans (Next) but they're now too big and I have to wear a belt for the first time in a very long time.

Hi

reading all your comments is great. Its a real help and makes me feel better and happier. thank you to all. Even though I'm going out for an indian to night with my college friends! So I'll have to be extra carefull and since the 8th of june this year i haven't touched or been near alcohol and thats the way i'm staying tee total. as some of my friends are also tee total. I have just come back from walking in the beautiful burton Joyce and bulcote here in nottingham. they are sleepy, very quiet villages with farms.
