I have the photo chosen and when I click on to 'paste', all I can see is a blank space where the photo should be (it has a little cross up in the left hand corner) and nothing else! Will be glad for any information!

Jeannie - have extended Emm's instructions which hopefully will take you through every stage.

First go to a free photo-sharing site and open an account. Many of us use flickr.com. Go to http://www.flickr.com/signup/ - think all that is required is email address and password (it’s part of BT Yahoo, and is quite reputable).

1) Next, you've saved your photos on to the computer
2) Now you need to open www.flickr.com in your browser and sign in (if you’re not already signed in)
3) On your home page look for the link 'upload photos or videos' and click on that. (If you can’t find it, look across top, click on “You” and then “Upload photos of videos”
4) On next screen, select 'choose photos'
5) A new mini window opens, which shows files on your computer hard disc. Scroll through until you find the directory where the image is stored, and then double- click on the name of the image you want to upload
6) You go back to main window again and name of file shows (if you have more than one picture, click on “Add more” and repeat step above)
7) Once you have names of files of all images displayed that you want to upload, scroll down and under “Privacy” click next to “public” (so other people can see them)
8) And then click on “Uploaded photos and videos”
9) Once photo has been uploaded, it says “Finished: next add a description perhaps”. Click on “Add description” " you have to go through this stage even if you are not going to add one
10) On next window, scroll down until you can see your picture. The title will be the file name, but you can change this is want. And you can also add a description " but you don’t need to
11) Then scroll down, and click on 'Save this batch'
12) On the next screen, you will see your photos displayed
13) Click on the photo you want to upload
14) When this opens on next screen, above photo you will see 9 small icons: click on 'all sizes' (5th from left/5th from the right/bang on the middle!)
15) Scroll down under photo to 'no.2 Grab the photo's URL'
16) copy url
17) come back to here and above post you can see 5 icons: click 4th - 'Image Link'
18) You will see a mini window open above entitled something like "Explorer user prompt" and this has an empty box next to the text "URL", Paste your photo url into here and press OK
However, sometimes Internet Explorer, depending on settings, you get a message just below menu bars which says "This website is using a scripted window to ask you for information. If you trust this website, click here to allow scripted windows". If this happens, click on that message, and then click "Temporarily allow script" (or similar) and then go back to step 17
19) Your url appears in message but note you can't view picture until it's been posted

And DON'T edit, you'll lose your picture and have to start again.

Followed your instructions to a ''tee" Jackie. Couldn't see O.K. to press, but apart from that, everything else all right. Will try again - thank you so much for your patience!
By the way, it is only a photo of a corner of my garden! I have just discovered that when I clicked on the url above, the photo appears in a small window!

Jeannie - I've edited my message to revise the instructions for steps 17-18 - see at top of this page.

In other words, when you click on the 4th of the 5 icons above where you post your message, there is a mini pop-up window that appears on your screen? It's into this that you past the url and press OK. But also sometimes setting on some people's browser don't like this window, and you get a message that tells you how to override it, but this message is so hidden away that is easy to miss. I get this message, and it appears on a line just below all the menu items on my browser window.

Amazing isn't it that it takes some 18 steps to paste a picture in a message, and the help facility on the forums is absymal! I'm also having terrible problems with slow downloading of pages tonight - about 15 minutes per page. And it's not my dial-up line: other websites are working fine.

OK, so, I was asked if I would post before and after pictures on here, so I'm giving it a go...

Unfortunately, there aren't many before pictures in existance, and this one is rather less than flattering as I was pulling a face at the time, but it gives you the idea.

Hopefully, some photos should now appear...

This is me at somewhere around my largest:-

And this was taken today:-

Fingers crossed x

Theresa, I seem to recognise that 'Do you really have to take a photo of me' look in the before photo! You are not only beautifully slim in the after one, you look happy being snapped. On another thread I said I imagined you as slim, graceful, confident etc. And it looks as if I was right.

Thanks for sharing these with us. As Jean says, it's great to see how far people have come. This in itself is a motivator.

Teresa that is AMAZING! It really is like a totally different person - I would never have recognised you in the old photo. Do you feel like another person, or do you still recognise yourself in your former body? I think you're an amazing example to all of us of what can be achieved if you put your mind to it

My husband was a bit dumb-sruck when he saw me downloading the photos yesterday... We've only been together for about 6 years, so although he knows I was a lot larger before we met (I have still lost quite a bit after as well), he's never really seen a picture...

Well, I'll add to all of these! What an incredible transformation!! You must feel so good about yourself now. I guess looking at the before photo stops you getting into bad habits again. I'll have to see if I've got a before one of me but my ICT skills are lacking!

A good 'before' photo here - what a double chin!! Not sure of my weight then but it didn't look good, it was taken in April 1997 just after my daughter was born. A good one to compare with the above.
