PS Have been told that photos exist from the Thames cleanup that I took part in at the beginning of June. I couldn't avoid the camera, so will view the damage when I see them. I just might then have another go - not in the before and after section as not in the after yet - at trying to get one in instead of the cleaning lady image, as they are electronic.

We look forward to seeing you soon. And if you can post one taken at the beginning of June, you will at least have a "three-quarters of the way to go" photo to compare with the slim you next summer.

Wonderful before and after photo Fiona! Also Julia. You both look great. When do you aim to get to the 2004 size Fiona?

I've broken my digital camera so got my 7 year old son (only other person in house at time) to take a photo of me in my dress and new hairdo with disposable camera, on Wednesday night for the dinner. I got to target weight that morning so was really chuffed. However, it wasn't official weigh in day so I have to wait until Monday. Not optimistic as have eaten rubbish tonight! Must exercise tomorrow and forecast not looking good.

...haven't really thought about it. Planning everything to the nth degree is my downfall. That's another 2.5 to 3 stones away, so I'd probably give myself until next summer at the current rate of weight loss!

thanks everyone for lovely comments. all of you look fab in your after pics. its too easy to become obsessed with the scales and let them rule our life and how we fell about ourselves because of a number, but really we should keep hold of the bigger picture and remember to tell ourselves all the lovely things we say to eachother! have a lovely weekend ab fabbers x
